

Ethel Hilda Aby Carnegie, a loving mother, Nana, and friend to all, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the age of 70. Ethel was the epitome of grace, dignity, unselfishness, forgiveness, and complete unconditional love. She has left her mark on so many with just her smile, touch, and words while leaving an amazing legacy for us all. She was retired from the Louisiana Department of Labor. Ethel is survived by her children, Amy Carnegie Dunn and husband, John, Betsy Carnegie Bryson and husband, Buddy, and Jason Barnett Carnegie, Sr.; grandchildren, Zachary Dunn, Jason “Jay” Carnegie, Jr, Landon Bryson, and Maggie Bryson; daughter-in-law, Christe Carnegie; sister, Margaret Aby Carroll and husband, Jim; brother-in-law, Roy Carnegie, Jr. and wife, Sheryl; her nieces Aby, Kimberly, Chrissie and nephew, Trey; and numerous loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barnett Carnegie and parents, Philip and Hilda Aby. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 10 a.m. until Funeral Service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
