

On Monday, March 7, 2016, Eunice B. Coburn, 85, of Baton Rouge, La., passed away peacefully at The Crossing Clarity Hospice Facility. Eunice Nora Newman was born on May 4, 1930, in Walker, La. Eunice was a strong Christian woman as well as being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was always willing to help her family and friends. Eunice was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Julius "Julie" Bersuder, Sr.; her 2nd husband, Dewey Coburn; her Mother, Mattie (Hood) Newman Miller; and her Father, Adolphus "Doc" Newman; and Frank Miller and many other family members. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Julius "Jay" and Barbara Bersuder, Gary and Sharon Bersuder and 1 daughter and son-in-law, Dwan and Michael Mizell. She is also survived by 7 Grandchildren: Charyl Bersuder, Frances Robinson, Courtney Smith, Michelle Bersuder, Michael Paul Bersuder, Benjamin Boeneke and Laural Mizell; and 5 Great-Grandchildren: Alex and Nicholas Bersuder, Ciera and Abigail Robinson and Landon Smith; as well as 2 Sisters, Joyce Dietrich and Reba Pulliam and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, our sincere gratitude and thanks goes out to the nursing staff at The Crossing Clarity Hospice Facility for its tender care and support. A celebration of Eunice's life will be at Rabenhorst East, in Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1p.m., conducted by Pastor Jay Coleman.
