Eva Sue Sanchez Chadbourne, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, went peacefully home, Saturday, April 5, 2014. She lived a full and rewarding 90 years and blessed and served others throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Robert K Chadbourne Sr. She is survived by son Colonel Robi Chadbourne (USAF) and wife Jane and grandsons David and Robert and many other relatives, friends, and those she considered her own. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church, member of their senior choir, and a former president of their Women's Missionary Union. She had a heart for missions and was dedicated to the deaf ministry in the church. She served as Interim Coordinator of the Deaf Ministry of the church for a brief period. In addition, she was a certified interpreter for the deaf, Executive Secretary for the Superintendent of the Louisiana School for the Deaf, author of children's Bible study material for the deaf, and held the offices of Treasurer and President of the Louisiana Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. But most of all she was a loving and giving wife, mom, and Gram. We miss her so very much, but know she is in a far better place, reunited with beloved family, friends, and her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The family would like to express special thanks to Katie and Patrice Young for their love and care.
