A loving mother and grandmother, she passed away at age 95 on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Sherwood Manor, Baton Rouge. She was a native of Hope, Ark., a longtime resident of Texarkana, Ark., and resided in Baton Rouge for the past 20 years. She is survived by daughter, Kitty Nipper and husband John, of Baton Rouge; son, Lewis Hussing, of Blanco, Texas; sister, Pat Lowman and husband Jack, of Cabot, Ark.; and nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, two nephews and niece. Preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruth Duke; husband, Lewis Hussing Sr.; son, Joe Hussing; and daughter, Ruth Anne Hussing. She was a former member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, and a longtime past member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, Texarkana, where she was a member of the Altar Society and an officer in Catholic Daughters. Her later years were spent in the joy and presence of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing in the many activities of their lives. Visiting hours are scheduled at East Funeral Home in Texarkana on Sunday, May 23, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with rosary recitation at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, May 24, at St. Edward's Catholic Church, Texarkana. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Local arrangements by Rabenhorst Funeral Home.
