Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34: 1-3 Flora Sims Coursey, 75, entered eternal life on Friday, February 22, 2013 and was received by her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a native of Hamburg, Mississippi and a resident of Baton Rouge. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Flo’s greatest desire was for all to come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a faithful prayer warrior and servant of the Most High God. She devoted herself to serving others. She is survived by son, Darren Dimattia & wife Libby; daughters, Leslie Bark & husband David, Alice Coursey, Quin Beattie & husband Dave, and Beverly Coursey; brother, Jack Sims; sisters, Betty Caldwell, Dorothy Burkhalter & husband Alvin; grandchildren, Brandon, Blakeley & Bradley Bark, Katelyn Bates, Anthony & Sheridan Dimattia, Kyle Coursey, and Spencer & Alexis Beattie. Preceded in death by parents, George & Maurice Sims; husband, Greer Coursey; son, Greer Coursey, Jr., and brother, George Sims, Jr. Visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Visiting to continue Friday, March 1, at Healing Place Church, 19202 Highland Road, from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 pm, conducted by Rev. Wayne Austin. Burial to follow at Greenoaks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darren & Anthony Dimattia, David, Brandon, & Bradley Bark, and David Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Burkhalter, Jack Sims, and William Dimattia.
