
A homemaker, a resident of Baton Rougeand a native of New Roads, Florence L. Mayer passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at Hospice of Baton Rouge in Ollie Steele Burden Manor at the age of 89. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Friday, Dec. 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at noon Saturday. Interment inResthavenGardensof Memory. She is survived by two half sisters, Lorraine Lee and Dorothy Langlois Persilver; a half brother, Jack Langlois; a son and daughter-in-law, Lester J. "Johnny Boy" and Johnette Mayer; three grandchildren, Kim Tarver, Chad Mayer and Robbie Hernandez; and five great-grandchildren, Ashley East, Adam Tarver, Blake Mayer, Samantha Hernandez and Jacob Herrington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester J. Mayer Sr.; two sons, Bobby and Jimmy Mayer; daughter, Betty Mayer Crochet; two brothers and a sister. Pallbearers will be Robbie Hernandez, Chad Mayer, Will Tarver, Albert Langlois, Harry Hernandez and Marvin Hernandez. A special thanks to Dr. Roger Hecker, the staff of Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenterand Hospice of Baton Rouge.
