

Frances Marie Sierra Cook, former resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 8, 2014 in Plano, TX surrounded by her family. She was born on March 5, 1955 in Sulphur, LA, where she grew up. Fran was such a sweet soul, and it was most evident in her love of animals and children. She adored her children and grandchildren, treasuring all the time she spent with them. Fran worked for St. Thomas More Catholic Preschool in Baton Rouge, and American Greetings in Baton Rouge and Dallas. She will be missed dearly by her husband, C. Wayne Cook; daughters, Monica Miller and husband Rich, and Mandi Cook; grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Gabrielle Miller, and Liam Dyer; 1 brother; 5 sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Donovan Cook and parents, Austin and Yska Sierra. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Entombment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
