""I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 Frances Marie, born May 1, 1926, passed to eternal peace on August 30, 2016. Marie as known to her family and friends was born in Greenwood, MS and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a member of Florida Blvd Baptist Church. She was a wife, homemaker, mother and loving grandmother the majority of her life. She took pride in cooking, canning and making jellies, caring for her family and having everyone together. The love she gave as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many will be her greatest footprint left on this Earth. After her children were grown she worked at Wilson's Fine Jewlery, Hancock Fabrics and Chem-Lawn until she retired to spend time in her yard gardening and enjoying life with her husband. She loved to garden, quilt, crochet and sew. Her children and grandchildren were the recipients of those hobbies. The love she put into each stitch of a quilt or blanket will be an eternal reminder that she will never be far from their hearts and lives. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Rabenhorst East on Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge, LA 9:00 am until religious services at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Jason Bland. Graveside service will be at Green Oaks Cemetery. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years James Edward Davis, son James Robert "Lil Jim" Davis, father Robert "RB" Mims, mother Verdie Richardson Mims and sister Janet Hughes. She is survived by her sister, Bobbie Fabrey, daughters and two sons in law. After the loss of her husband, Frances, as he knew her, always referred to him as her "Dr. Husband" due to the years of being a team fighting her illnesses. To Susan and Luwanda at Ochsner Infusion Room, her other daughters, the family is forever grateful for all the love you gave her and feeling like she had gained two daughters. To St. Joseph Hospice and the kindness of her nurse Tiffany Chester she was able to transition with peace and love into the next life. To Jesus Christ her Savior, all blessing and peace are through HIM.
