

Frances Ann Williams, a retired medical technologist, was born on September 4, 1936 to Franklin A. and Emma J. Williams. Ann passed away surrounded by her family on June 9, 2015 at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High and attended LSU in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, also Tulane University. She was a former employee of the Pharmacology Department of L.S.U.M.C., New Orleans. While employed there, she was the First Medical Technologist in Louisiana to do Estrogen and Progesterone Receptor Assays using human malignant tissue. Ann also did the Immuno Chemotherapy. She transferred to Charity Hospital in New Orleans and retired with a total of 30 years stack civil service. Ann was a member of Amite Baptist Church. She had a deep love for animals and was never without numerous pets at any time. Ann will be remembered for her feisty personality and her passion for life. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Linda Sue Thomas (Joe); nieces, Mary Lou Roberts, Linda Wilson (Harvey), Helen Holmes (Hilton), Mary Faye Bridges (Claude), Linda Powell (Billy), Tammy Courtney (Brett), and Beverly Henderson (Jack); nephews, Frank Williams (Linda), Albert Williams (Betty), Ronnie Williams (Mary), Richard Williams, and Bart Thomas (Myra). She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert L. Williams, Frank E. Williams, and Bryant J. Williams; and sister, Mary W. Welborn. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, June 13th from 10:00 am until the funeral service begins at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Donations may be made to an animal welfare organization of your choice.
