Francis Hudson Halligan

Frances Hudson HalliganA native of Waynesboro, Virginia and long-time resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the age of 89.  Frances was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge and was involved in their Foreign Mission Program.  She also volunteered with the Rural Life Museum for many years.  As a world traveler, she enjoyed the sights and sounds of distant places such as Europe, Asia, and Egypt with her friends.  She loved her family and friends and will be by greatly missed by those who loved her.  Frances is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe Halligan; sons, Joe Halligan, Jr. (wife Fifi) of Spring, TX and Tom Halligan of The Woodlands, TX; sisters, Lucia Hudson, of Chapel Hill, NC  and Gay Purcell of Richmond, VA; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucy Hudson; and brother, Bill Hudson.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Dunham Chapel of First Presbyterian Church (763 North Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) 10:00 am until 10:45 am. The Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Dr. Gerrit Dawson and Rev.
