Francis Jane Williams Kennedy

January 7, 1947 – May 12, 2026
Obituary of Francis Jane Williams Kennedy
IN THE CARE OF

Greenoaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park

Francis Jane Williams Kennedy, also known as “SIS” to her Mother’s family and as “Mimi” to many others, passed away peacefully at home in Baton Rouge, LA at age 79, surrounded by her family, on May 12, 2026.

Jane was born on January 7, 1947, in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Denham Springs High School in 1964. Not long after that, she met her future husband, Ronnie Kennedy, and they were married on February 4, 1966. She worked at Exxon for a few years to support her family while Ronnie attended Dental School. She later worked in several offices doing accounting work. As time went by, she became the office manager of Ronnie’s growing dental practice until they both retired in 2013. She later went back to college at Southeastern Louisiana University, earning an Associate Degree.

Jane enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, cooking, scuba diving and her true love, sewing and smocking. She spent countless hours sewing and smocking priceless dresses for her granddaughter, AnnaClaire, the apple of her eye. She was a great multi-tasker and enjoyed the fact that she could manage the dental office and raise her grandchild there. She would not have had it any other way. Most of those that knew her had a “Mimi” story and we will find comfort and smiles retelling many of them for years to come.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim Kennedy Courville and Norbert Courville, her granddaughter, AnnaClaire Courville, her brother Ricky Williams (Becky), and her sister Debbie Gutman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Kyle Ronnie Kennedy, her parents, Charles Quincy Williams and Bertha Gladys Corgey and her brothers Mylie Davenport and Charles Williams. Pall bears are Greg Taliaferro, Donnie Dawsey, Greg Hidalgo, Chad Thevenot, Jay Jackson, Justin Talifarro, Aaron Taliaferro.

Jane was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and adored the pastors and the congregation, so we would like to ask in lieu of flowers, to make donations to the Parkview Baptist Church.

Born on January 7, 1947, Jane lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is remembered in a humorous and lighthearted way.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice for all their help and care of Jane.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Parkview Baptist Church, 5750 Parkview Church Rd, Baton Rouge, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow. A reception will immediately follow at the Parkview Baptist church Mission Cafe.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice for all their help and care of Jane.
