"Let not your heart be troubled. Trust in God. Trust also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:1-3. Francis Joseph LeDoux now resides with the Lord and his beloved wife, Denice Faye LeDoux, who died in November of 2008. Francis died peacefully at Ollie Steele Burden Manor on Friday, May 1, 2009, with his daughter at his bedside. He enjoyed getting to know the residents, staff and new friend, John Cado, at Ollie Steele over the past few months but longed to be reunited with his wife of more than 50 years, Denice. We take great comfort in knowing that they are together again, in paradise. Francis had a love for music of all kinds and opened LeDoux Music Store on Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge in 1964. After his retirement, he enjoyed working in his flower beds and just being outside. He also gave many hours of his time volunteering at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was a kind, giving, soft-spoken man with a wonderful smile and sense of humor. He never had a complaint and in his final hours, when asked how he was feeling, he replied that "I couldn't be better." Our sincere appreciation is extended to the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Sisters, staff and residents of Ollie Steele Burden Manor who helped make his last months fulfilling and peaceful. Thanks also to Hospice of Baton Rouge, in particular, his nurse "Nettie." Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Monday, May 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service in the chapel at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Joe Ratcliff. Following the service, there will be a private interment for immediate family. Survivors include his three children, Elizabeth LeDoux Vogt and husband Steve, Frankie LeDoux Singer and husband Mike, and Charles B. LeDoux and wife Christina; grandchildren, Kelly, Jamie and Rachel Vogt, Lauren and Caroline Singer, Hayden Carr and Christopher LeDoux; and a loyal friend, James Miller. Frances was one of eight children and was preceded in death by his parents, Auguste G. LeDoux and Laura Pellerin. He was affectionately known as "Cutie" by his relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge or the Denice LeDoux Scholarship Fund at St. James Episcopal Day School.
