Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Oct 4, 1944, she arrived in Baton Rouge in 1971 to help with the impossible task of raising four Aguilar children (and their vast groups of friends who challenged her in very way). There is not a child who visited that home that does not remember her or her Dominican fried chicken or platanos. She was embraced by the families of the Whitehaven/Knollwood neighborhood. All of the children who knew and loved her called her “Kika”. She will be forever missed by her extended families.
She was predeceased by her parents, Benito Rodriguez and Pastora Villeta.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Rodriguez and grandchildren, Crisnelly and Eudi; her brother Pedro and his wife Guillermina; her nephews, Richard, Antony and Joan and her niece Nelly Michelle, all of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
She is also survived by the entire Aguilar, Ward, Craig and Griffin families of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, March 12 from 2:30-4:30 pm at the home of Noryn and Robert Ward, 2011 Woodchase Blvd.
