Frank William Banta Sr.

Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Dorella Bolotte Banta; his sons Frank, Jr. (Sandy) and Robert; and his son-in-law Steve LaPlace. He also leaves behind a legacy of seven grandchildren: Jessica Gulley, Robbie Banta, Chase LaPlace, Brooke Hays, Danielle Vincent, and Mary Banta, along with ten great-grandchildren who brought him great joy. His family further includes his brother Merlin Banta (Marilyn) and sister Janet Wilbert (Andrew), as well as his sister-in-law Marilyn Spano Banta and special family member Lisa K. Miller.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Laura Burch Banta; his daughter Genie LaPlace; his son Jamie Banta; his grandson Jared LaPlace; and his daughter-in-law Sarah Banta. He was also preceded by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Elmer DeVeaux, Betty and Toby Gauthreaux, and his brother Wilson (Sonny) Banta.

Frank was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Frank’s faith was a cornerstone of his life.

Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at the St. Gabriel Catholic Church Cemetery.
