
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all, he passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenterafter heart surgery complications, at the age of 71. He was retired after 45 years of surveying work with Jacobs Engineering, H.E. Weise Engineering, the state Highway Department, Stone&Webster Engineering and Bechtel Engineering. He was a native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Baton Rouge. He served with the Louisiana National Guard for six years and was a member of UCT, the Order of United Commercial Travelers of America. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Wednesday from noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Frank Bass, celebrant. Interment atGreenoaksMemorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Norma Mabile Genovese; four children and their spouses, Rachel Cook and David, Arlene Rossi and Norris, Troy Genovese and Dana, and Jason Genovese and Lori; 10 grandchildren, Trisha Cook Jarreau and her husband, Jeremy, Laura Cook, Frankie Badeaux, Kristen Badeaux, Jodi Badeaux, Jonathan Rossi, Haley and Sean Genovese, and Jacob and Cade Genovese; brothers, Sal Genovese and Joe and Albert Castrogovannie; and sister, Rosemary Duhon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Genovese and Marguerite Canova Genovese; a brother, Johnny Castro; and sisters, Rosalie Beneditto and Lucy Mangana. His hobbies were fishing with his best friend, Jake Bollinger, and brother Sal Genovese. He also enjoyed feeding his backyard squirrels and caring for his dog, Sadie. Pallbearers will be Frankie Badeaux, Larry Pourciau, Brad Pourciau, Jeremy Jarreau, Rob Seidenglanz, Jake Bollinger, Wayne Wilkins and Jimmy Badeaux. Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Rossi, David Cook and Norris Rossi. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Eugene Berry, Dr. Harold Clausen and Dr. Henry Patrick.
