
He was a retired printer and pressman, a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge. Frank died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at age 81. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Saturday, March 20, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, Brookhaven, on Sunday, March 21, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the religious service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. David Fortenberry. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Matherne and husband Paul; sons, Keith McDavid and wife Tamara, and Ricky McDavid and wife Sharon; sister, Marguerite McDavid Williams; and grandchildren, Brian McDavid, Benjamin Boyett, Royce Matherne, Darla Matherne, Nathaniel McDavid and Jerry Matherne. Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Helen Bahm McDavid; parents, George D. Sr. and Wilmer Lewis McDavid; a brother, George Dewey McDavid Jr.; and a sister, Irene McDavid Porter. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Paul Matherne and Alton Porter. He was a member of Fair River Baptist Church of Brookhaven. He was involved with the Boy Scouts, Mississippi Land&Forestry Association, Mississippi Cattlemen's Association and various community civic groups.
