Southern gentleman, passed away on October 3, 2026 at the age of 79.
Born August 19, 1947, Frank was the youngest of three children born to Herman Acker McGee Sr. and Ola Mae Walsh
McGee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Frank graduated from Louisiana State University in 1969 with a degree in accounting and went on to enjoy a
distinguished professional career. He began his career with Arthur Andersen before serving as Chief Financial Officer
of Hotel Dieu Hospital in New Orleans. An entrepreneur at heart, he later established his own accounting firm, Frank
W. McGee and Company. In the latter part of his career, he worked as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified
Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) for the Louisiana Department of Insurance.
Throughout his life, Frank was known for his integrity, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to his word.
When Frank said he would do something, it got done. He believed in doing things right, taking pride in one's work, and
always finishing what you start. Frank also had a strong but quiet faith, which he leaned on during life's most difficult
times.
These were the values he instilled in his two sons, Ashton and Tyler. Through both his words and his example, he
taught them the importance of honesty, responsibility, hard work, and gratitude. Frank believed that kindness and
generosity should never go unacknowledged. He appreciated the tradition of a thoughtful handwritten letter, often
writing personal notes to friends, family, and his sons.
Frank was a Southern gentleman in every sense of the word. Impeccably dressed, stylish, and always polished, he
had a particular fondness for seersucker suits, fine linen, and classic Southern charm. He carried himself with dignity
and class, but behind that distinguished appearance was a man with a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh,
and an extraordinary ability to enjoy life.
A gifted storyteller and gracious host, Frank loved entertaining family and friends. He was often found behind the bar in
his home serving drinks, tending to the grill, sharing stories, and filling the room with laughter. His gatherings were
memorable, his hospitality generous, and his personality larger than life.
Frank was a master in the kitchen and a natural entertainer. Whether preparing a magnificent standing rib roast, his
famous grillades and grits, or a traditional Louisiana redfish couvillion, he approached every meal with pride, lots of
love, and impeccable presentation.
And boy, did he love his Chardonnay!
An avid outdoorsman and exceptional marksman, Frank loved hunting and was known for his remarkable accuracy.
He was also a passionate LSU fan, proudly cheering on his beloved Tigers throughout his life.
Frank also had a lifelong love of traveling by motorhome. Over the years, he enjoyed countless adventures on the
open road, embracing the freedom of travel and the experiences that came with it. Motorhoming became one of his
great passions, one he enthusiastically shared with friends and family. In fact, he
introduced several close friends to the motorhome lifestyle, inspiring a love of travel that continues in their lives today.
Above all, Frank cherished his wife of 54 years, Wanda Lou McGee. He delighted in taking her shopping, treating her
to wonderful dinners, and making sure she was always beautifully dressed and cared for. His love for Wanda was
expressed through countless thoughtful gestures and a lifetime of devotion. She was truly the love of his life.
To his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, he was affectionately known as "Papa Frank." He was deeply loved by
his family, and his presence will be dearly missed.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Lou McGee; his sons, Ashton Stuart McGee and Tyler Walsh McGee;
his beloved daughter-in-law, Coco McGee; his grandchildren, Kincaid Andrew McGee and his wife Brie McGee, Holt
McGee, and Summer McGee; and his great-granddaughter, Madeline "Maddie" McGee. He is also survived by his
sister, Nancy McGee, and his brother, Herman McGee Jr.
Frank Walsh McGee lived a life marked by integrity, tradition, generosity, laughter, and an appreciation for the finer
things in life. He leaves behind a legacy not only of professional accomplishment, but of character, cherished
memories, and the countless lives he touched along the way.
He was a man of his word, a gentleman of distinction, and truly one of a kind.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 9:00 am until Memorial Services begin at 11:00 am.
