He was a retired X-ray technician at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Woman's Hospital and LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center. Frank died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. He was 92, a native of Minneapolis and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 191st General Hospital during Normandy and the northern France campaigns. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A private religious service will be held Friday, conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. Interment with military honors will follow at Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty P. West; two daughters, Mary Tangney and husband Raymond, and Carol Krumm and husband Carl; two sons, Howard West and wife Amy, and Mark West and wife Denise; sister, Virginia Paist, of Charlottesville, Va.; brother, Joseph West, of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Patrick Tangney, Ian West, Laura West, Colin West, Amy Krumm, Jennifer Krumm, Melissa Krumm, James West and Haleigh West; and great-grandchild, Jordyn Krumm. Pallbearers will be Patrick Tangney, Ian West, Colin West, James West, Raymond Tangney and Carl Krumm. He was an avid amateur radio operator with the radio handle of WA5EMK, a photographer and a wonderful loving father. Memorial donations may be made to Ollie Steele Burden Manor.
