Frederick William “Ted” Grant peacefully passed away April 20, 2025. Ted was born August 2, 1926, in West Monroe, Louisiana. He was married to his beloved wife Rita Aucoin Grant on June 12, 1954. Ted and Rita were both active members of First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge for more than 50 years.
Ted was a retired Army Colonel with more than 36 years of service and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Ted attended West Point and earned a bachelor’s and master’s in business administration at LSU. He was a CPA and worked for Kaiser Aluminum, and Hill Medical for more than 40 years. Ted was a self-proclaimed M.O.M.(mean old man), but those of us who knew him best, knew a kind and giving man. His motto was “Life is Good.”
Ted is survived by his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Rita Aucoin Grant; parents, Fred M. Grant and Elvie Sutcliff Grant; and brother, Boyd S. Grant.

Visitation for Ted will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Tuesday, April 29, 6 - 8 pm; continuing on Wednesday, April 30, 9 - 10 am. There will be a short funeral service at 10 am followed by burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
