

George Henry "Son" "Sony Boy" Hood a native of Norwood and resident of Watson, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at the age of 84. Mr. Hood was a former employee of Capital Bedding and was retired from Builders Center. He was a member of Norwood Baptist Church and attended Journey Church. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 5:30pm until 9pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Journey Church 17407 Greenwell Springs Rd from 9am until funeral services at 11am officiated by Pastor Jay Coleman. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Norwood. Survived by a sister, Jessie Mae Pickett, nieces, Sharon Chutz, Bobbie Ott and husband Cecil, Gwen Fussell and husband Jack, Tibby Ott and husband Donald, Janet Jarreau, Betty Bergeron, Marilyn "NooNoo" Dabadie, Cathy Colletti, nephews, Lawrence "Pop" Pickett, Jr. and wife Joanne, and Steve Pickett and wife Elsie, numerous other great nieces and nephews and other's who were special to him, Carl Chutz, Blondie Crosby, Henry Colletti and Henry Dabadie. Preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Georgia Hood, sister and brother-in-law, Gene and Hattie Hood Watson, brother-in-law, Lawrence Pickett, Sr. nephews Louis "Let" Trosclair and Billy Bergeron and great nephew, Beau Ott. Pallbearers will be Mike McCurry, Byron Buhler, Curtis Ott, Pop Pickett, Steve Pickett and Rudy Chandler. George enjoyed working, singing, dancing, music and making people laugh.
