
A resident of Baton Rougeand a native of Donaldsonville, he passed away on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, in Baton Rougeat age 72. He attended LSU and served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was the retired owner of Cajun Camper Sales in Gonzales, Action Automotive in Baton Rougeand Doran's Custom Framing. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jacqueline Doran; mother, HiIda Theriot Doran; four sisters, Diana Doran Boudreaux, Janet Doran Barksdale, Karen Doran Smajstrla and Patricia Doran Demers; brother, Ronald J. Doran; 11 nephews and four nieces. Preceded in death by his father, George H. Doran Sr. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Dec. 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Friday, Dec. 29, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Michael Schatzle, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park with Matthew Barksdale, Andrew Barksdale, Brad Boudreaux, Jeff Boudreaux, Brian Boudreaux and Kerry Demers serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
