A retired employee of the federal government and Wintz Meat Market, he died Tuesday, March 4, 2008. He was 82, a resident and native of St. Gabriel and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Wednesday was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the church Thursday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tony Russo. Interment in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Edna Rae Loupe, St. Gabriel; two sons, George Cary Loupe, Walker, and Mark Thomas Loupe and wife Mary "Donut" Loupe, Prairieville; two grandchildren, Kelli Rae Loupe, New Orleans, and Kristopher Loupe, St. Amant, and their mother, Gwen Loupe, Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Pressley J. Jr., John H., L.W. and Lucien Loupe. Memorial donations may be made to St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
