

George Marcus Ingram, Sr., age 71, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at OLOL Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. He was born in Jackson, MS and resided in Baton Rouge, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, George C. and Margaret E. Ingram; 3 brothers-in-law, Glen Bacot, William C. Boyd, and Joseph R. Cook. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Sue Cook Ingram; son, George M. “Bubba” Ingram, Jr. and wife Kelly; daughter, Robin R. Prestridge and husband Todd; three grandchildren, Marcus J. O’Connor, Victoria L. Prestridge, and Madeline “Maddie” E. Ingram; sister, Sarah I. Bacot and her three children. His extended family includes sisters-in-law, Sherry Reamer and husband Jordan “Al” Reamer, and Louise Cook; numerous nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and met and married his future bride right after his discharge. He was a sheet metal worker for 40 years, with Local Union No. 214, as well as, an avid hunter and fisherman. His sense of humor, willingness to always help others, and love of family and country tells so much about who he truly was. He was loved by many, and will be missed by his family and friends. A special thank you goes to those who cared for him while he was in the hospital. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 5PM-9PM. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 12PM in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
