

George Emanuel Lee, Jr., born on November 23, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, transitioned to his heavenly reward on November 21, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 72. As the first of six children, he was a proud son of George Lee, Sr. and Bessie McCall Lee.
A 1971 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, George served honorably in the United States Air Force for 14 years, exemplifying courage and dedication advancing to the rank of sergeant. After his military service, he committed more than 20 years to the United States Postal Service, serving as a union representative with the American Postal Workers Union, and demonstrating constant reliability and service to his community.
George married Linda Ducree on June 6, 1994, and remained a devoted husband until her passing in 2020. In 2003, he answered the call to ministry, being ordained at Mount Airy Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastor John L. Dorsey. His passion for learning led him to earn an associate and bachelor's degree in theology from Union Baptist Theological Seminary. George will forever be known for his larger-than-life personality and laughter. His warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Despite the heartache of losing loved ones, his message of resilience, service, and faith continues to inspire those who remember him. He is the reason everyone is smiling today.
George's legacy lives on through his four children: Calina (Teddy) Young and Tammara (Antoine) Kelly of New Orleans, Darwin Lee of New Orleans, and Ryan Glass of Baton Rouge, as well as his seven grandchildren: Antoine Kelly, Jr., Antoinette Kelly, Aaliyah Glass, Joshua Kelly, Bryan Isom, Bethany Kelly, and Tristan Lee. He is survived by his uncle Benny McCall, along with his four siblings: Linda Lee of New Orleans, Joseph (Andrea) Lee of Terrytown, Louisiana, Adrianne Johnson of New Orleans, and Michael (Floray) Lee of Katy, Texas, along with a loving network of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, George and Bessie Lee, his beloved wife Linda Ducree-Lee, sister Cheryl Lee Thomas, and grandson Pierre Joshua Smith, Jr., George’s spirit and values continue to inspire all who knew him.
