

"Gerald L. Long, 82, resident of Baton Rouge went to be with his Lord Monday, August 7th with his family by his side. He was a loving husband of 56 years to Norma Wilkinson Long and an amazing dad to two daughters, Jessie Darlene Long Achord, husband Aubrey, and Samantha Long Bonanno, husband Donnie. He is also survived by four wonderful grandchildren, Megan Stinson, Jennifer Bonanno, fiancé Eric Lieux, Dustin Achord, and Makayla Bonanno; two great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Logan Stinson; a brother, Earl Long, wife Carolyn; a special sister-in-law and friend, Margie Wilkinson Spillman; as well as several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends. He had many titles including Hi Nabor Supermarket Manager, Rabenhorst Funeral Assistant, and avid fisherman. Gerald had proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran, was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. Most importantly, he loved the Lord and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He enjoyed his Sunday School Class and taught everyone to love the Lord first, family second, and then life itself. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Long Woodward and Junie Long; brother, Bobby Long, wife Rosie; in-laws, A.J. and Charity Wilkinson; brothers-in-law, Adrian Wilkinson and G.D. Spillman; grandson-in-law, Anthony Stinson; and nephew, Wayne Hollingsworth. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, on Thursday August 10th, from 5pm-9pm with a Masonic service at 7pm. Visitation will resume at Rabenhorst on Friday, August 11th at 8am until service at 10am, conducted by Bro. Dennis McAnnaly. Burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Gloster, MS, at 2pm. Pallbearers will be Aubrey Achord, Donnie Bonanno, Dustin Achord, Eric Lieux, Ellis Hollingsworth, and Darron Wilkinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Stinson, Stanley Cheatham, James Godeaux, Keith Burnham and Jim Harvey. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Gideons International, P.O.
