Glenda Ray McDaniel Wiles, 87, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025. Sweet as the smell of magnolia, gentle as a warm summer breeze, Glenda was a loving, caring, wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to so many. Kind and considerate, smart, graceful and always there for family and friends. Born in Greenlaw, LA on March 9, 1938, she grew up on a dairy farm in Osyka, MS. Glenda is a graduate of Osyka High School, Osyka Mississippi, Class of 1955, where she was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She played on the girls’ high school basketball team. She worked as an administrative assistant/accounting manager for a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) for over 60+ years at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. She is survived by three daughters, Paula Kimbrell (Cary), Robin Carter, Judy Wiles (step-daughter). Two sons, Albert “Al” Carter (Bridget), Arthur Wiles III (step-son) (Debbie). One sister, Loyce Taylor. Nine grandchildren, Christopher, JT, Stuart, Stephanie, Caleb, Summer, Hogan, Kathlyn, Hannah and seventeen great grandchildren and one on the way. Preceded in death by Arthur Wiles (husband), Albert and Tee McDaniel (parents), Dorothy Rader and Joyce Pearce (sisters), Josephine Brumfield (special sister), Jack McDaniel (brother), John Carter (son) and Owen Kimbrell (great grandson). A celebration of her life will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802, Sunday, June 29, 2025 with visitation from 1:00 pm until service at 3:00 pm. Officiated by Dr. Cary Kimbrell. The family would like to give a special Thanks to all the staff at the Woodleigh Nursing Home of Baton Rouge and Baton Rouge Hospice.
