Gloria Anne Denicola

"A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Zachary, Gloria Anne Denicola passed away at her home on Monday, September 24, 2018, at the age of 87. She loved to dance and fish, and would light up a room when she entered. She retired as co-owner of Don's Furniture Upholstery. She is survived by her daughters: Donna Denicola Pruett (Paul) and Elizabeth Anne Denicola Gorski (Sam Oliphant); and her son, Michael Wayne Denicola (Stacy). She is also survived by her sisters: Rita Neck, Jackie Scardina, and Mary Lynn Scardina; her brother, A.J. Scardina (Nettie); grandchildren: Derek Pruett (Donna), Jessica Pruett and son Dominic, Jessica McDavid (Jason Price), D.R. McDavid (Emily), Monica Verdun, Rebecca Adams (Brad), and Amy Philen (Ben); 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dominic Denicola; her mother, Lena Monachello Scardina; and by her father, Jack Scardina. Visiting will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, from 12pm until Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm, celebrated by Rev. Jeff Bayhi. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be Derek Pruett, D.R. McDavid, Brad Adams, Jason Price, Kris Neck, and Kenny O'Neal. Honorary Pallbearers are Zane Verbois, Byron O'Neal, and Edmond LeBlanc. Special thanks to the staff at Audubon Hospice, especially Kim Neck. Donations in her memory would be appreciated to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
