Grayson Scott Young, Jr. age 77, of Baton Rouge, La., passed away on July 24, 2026, at his home. Scott was born on May 25, 1949, in Baton Rouge to Grayson Scott Young, Sr. and Virginia Crawford Young. He graduated from Broadmoor High School in 1967 and received both his undergraduate and master’s degree from LSU. He worked as a Nuclear Engineer for over 30 years. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Scottie and Virginia Young. He is survived by his sisters, Ellen Young DeLouise and Leslie Young Damm; his children, Kathryn Young Wetekamm (Kale) and Grayson Scott Young III (Connor Best); grandchildren Anna Kathryn, William Frederick, and Loralai Claire Wetekamm; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A memorial service will be held in North Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge.
