

Gregory Clark Langlois, 72, passed away peacefully Saturday night, July 30, 2022, in Baton Rouge. Greg was born November 12, 1949, in New Roads, Louisiana, to the late J.C. & Patsy Langlois. Greg was happily married to Janet Churchman Langlois for 42 years, until her death in 2013.
Greg attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches before enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he served for four years. His enlistment included serving in Vietnam. Following his service in the Air Force, Greg began a career in the food industry. He started working as the kitchen manager at Ralph & Kacoo’s Restaurants. He later worked until his retirement in 2012, as a purchasing supervisor in the food industry. After retirement, he found joy in buying and selling used records.
Greg was an avid sports fan and loved attending or watching LSU, Saints and Pelicans sporting events. He also loved cheering on the White Sox. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf when he could find the time. His love for basketball led to his coaching and mentoring hundreds of young men through the AAU basketball program in excess of 20 years.
His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren, cooking for them every Sunday. Greg is survived by his daughter, Kristen and husband Brian Johnson; his son Ryan and wife Sydney Langlois; grandchildren Devyn, Alexandra, and Austin Johnson, Nolan and Avery Langlois and Brucie-Pup, all of Baton Rouge; brothers Cleve and Mary Lynn Langlois; Lionel and Carol Langlois; sisters Stephanie and Michael Lawson; Stacie Langlois; sister-in-law Peggy Churchman; brothers-in-law Jim and Sandra Churchman; Joseph Lee and Tracey Churchman; sisters-in-law Mary and Terry Greene; Teresa and Keith Daniel and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Honorary pallbearers include Justin and Josh Langlois, Cody Scivicque, Bryan, Erik, Michael, Jason, Danny, Tyler and Collin Churchman, Terry Greene, Jr. and Mark and Matthew Daniel.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to special family members that assisted with his care, as well as St. Joseph Carpenter House.
A memorial gathering will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 11am until memorial service at 2pm. Inurnment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
