
Guy Reps Jones died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. A retired chemical engineer from Baton Rouge, Reps was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Oct. 3, 1923. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by Cities Service in Lake Charles and Kaiser Aluminum in Baton Rouge, Gramercy and Mandeville, Jamaica. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy R. Jones and Hallie McLure Jones; and a sister, Susan Jones Taylor, who was of San Diego. He is survived by his sister, Miriam Jones Lindgren, of Crawfordville, Fla.; his wife of 64 years, Lucille Fox Jones, of Ruston; and five children, Lawrence Blake Jones and Lucinda Jones Knipmeyer, both of New Orleans, Joell Jones and Barbara Hope Jones, both of Oakland, Calif., and Ragan Reps Jones, of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Joshua Lee Rubenstein, Christopher Blake Jones and Patrick James Eskew, all of New Orleans, Becky Button O'Rear, of Oakland, Cassidy Hope Wright, of Orinda, Calif., Erin Lucia Wong and Brian Blake Wong, both of Alameda, Calif., and Kyle Ragan Jones, of Baton Rouge; and a great-grandson, Griffin Thomas O'Rear, of Oakland. A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., with visitation at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
