
H. Norman Saurage Jr. died at 2 p.m.Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenter. A Baton Rougenative, he was 93. He retired in 1986 as the chairman of Community Coffee Co. His father founded the business in 1919, and he entered it as a youth. The employees of this family-owned and operated company still remember him as the "Builder of the Business." Alma Lee Spaht Saurage, his wife of 65 years, preceded him in death in August 1996. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Lorene Saurage; son, L. Cary Saurage II; son, Roland R. Saurage and partner Dean A. Bordelon and children Patrick and Sarah Bordelon; son H. Norman Saurage III and wife Donna Maddox Saurage and their children, Susan Saurage Altenloh and husband Bill, Stephanie Saurage Samuelsson and husband Lennart H.N. "Hank" Saurage IV and wife Laurie, Jennifer Saurage Moreland and husband Jim, and Matthew C. Saurage and wife Catherine; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Norman Saurage Sr. and Maude Spohn Saurage; sister, Edrye Saurage Dobler; and brothers, Captain L. Cary Saurage and Warren A. Saurage. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m.to 11 a.m.in the upstairs parlor of the First Presbyterian Church on North Boulevard. Graveside service atRoselawnMemorial Parkat 11:30 a.m.Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of choice.
