A devoted grandfather, father, husband, son, nephew, and brother, Lin Cunningham departed this life March 1, 2024. He was 77, resident of Baton Rouge and was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970, serving in Germany in a chemistry lab. He was an honor graduate of the University of Virginia Engineering School. He then worked as a chemical engineer at ExxonMobil for 36 years. His passions included a lifetime of travel, photography, nature, and above all, his family. His later years were focused on his beloved six grandchildren and being the keeper of family history. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Cunningham, for whom he was an exceptional caregiver, and his parents, Harold Cunningham Sr., and Margaret “Geneva” Cunningham. He is survived by his two children: Aimee Cunningham Walsh, husband Matthew Walsh, their three children, Sebastian “Seppi”, Maya, and Kinley; Harold “Hal” Cunningham III, wife Courtney Cunningham, their three children, Isabelle, Evelyn, and Elise; and sisters Debi Suggs and Valerie Beckner. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024 and funeral service will be held at Goodwood Church of Christ at 2 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Heart Association.
