A retired professional civil engineer and land surveyor with Barnard&Burk, Barnard&Thomas and Livingston Parish Sewer Districts 1 and 2, he died at 7:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 86, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Monroe. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having served with the V Amphibious Corps in Saipan, Tinian, Iwo Jima and Japan. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service at noon. Entombment in Greenoaks Mausoleum. He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Williamson. Preceded in death by his parents, Blanch and Almos Becton; and wife, Jean W. Williamson. He was past president of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Louisiana Engineering Society and a member of the Marine Corps League Choctaw Detachment.
