

Smith, Harvey M. "Mike"A mechanical quality control inspector for Turner Industries at CF Industries in Donalsonville and a resident of Baton Rouge, Mike passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital on Monday, November 16, 2015 after a brief illness. He was 66, a native of Laurel, MS and had proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Jeanne Cazes Smith; three daughters, Crystal Michele Smith, Latricia Marie Day and husband Christopher Day, and Pamala Gayle Perkins and husband Kelley Perkins; a son, Charles Allen Smith and wife Rebecca Meister Smith; four sisters, Patricia Thompson and husband Glen, Clara Brownlee and husband Wayne, Ginger McKenzie and husband Danny, and Nancy Richards and husband Lonnie; two brothers, Tommy Smith and wife Gale, and Martin Smith and wife Linda; sister-in-law, Evelyn Smith; seven grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Wesley Baker, Christopher Lambert, Tymber Smith, Shyann Braud, Paige Perkins and Hannah Perkins; and two great-grandchildren, SheaLynn Braud and LaikLynn Braud. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Calvin and Inell Hickson Smith; and a brother, John Calvin Smith, Jr. Mike was a longtime member of West Baton Rouge Country Club in Brusly. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East Chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Thursday, Dec. 3rd, from 5 pm until 9 pm and resumes on Friday, Dec. 4th, from 10:00 am until Memorial Services at noon conducted by Rev. Melvin Meister and members of the U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Team. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge or blood unit donations in Mike's name at Our Lady of the Lake Blood Bank.
