

A resident of Baton Rouge passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the age of 91. During WWII, Helen and her sister were involved in part of the war effort “ROSIE THE RIVETER,” building C47 transport planes and PT boats in New Orleans. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Friday, January 24, 2014, from 5 PM until 8 PM and will resume Saturday, January 25, 2014, from 10 AM until funeral service at 12 PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by two daughters, Terrell “Terry” LeBlanc Harris and husband, George, and Judith “Judy” Plaisance and husband, Gary; one sister, Bertha “Bea” Giuliante; four grandchildren, Stephen Harris and wife, Cynthia, Staci Walden and husband, Capt. Brian, Julie Zerbst and husband, Rob, and Paul Harris and wife, Victoria; five great grandchildren, Sammy Harris, Zachary and Chase Walden, and Adam and Parker Zerbst. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fabian and Honorine Amedee; former husbands, Cleveland LeBlanc and James Hopkins; sisters, Orelia Landry, Martha Pate Waddell, Vivian LaMulle, and Anne Caraway; and brother, Gerry Amedee. Helen was a real trip and in control of the ride that we all shared with her. She was loved dearly and will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice of Baton Rouge.
