Helen Yvonne Woodard Smith died at 9:45 a.m.Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenter. She was 74, a resident of Baton Rougeand a native of Kentwood. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Tuesday, March 27, from 5 p.m.to 9 p.m.Visiting atNewZionBaptistChurch, Kentwood, on Wednesday from 11 a.m.until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jason Foster. Interment in the church cemetery. She is survived by a special friend, Paul Curtin; son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Lisa Smity; sister, Lena Kelly; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bub and Lola Woodard and Dempsey and Zula Woodard; three grandchildren, Tonya Smith Lurry, Brent Smith and Regan Smith; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Larry C. Smith; two sons, L.C. Smith Jr. and Arlin Smith; and brother, James Woodard. Special thanks to her physicians and the nursing staff of the CS unit at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenter.
