Henry J. Bergeron, Jr., age 90, a native of New Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge since 2005,passed away at home on June 3, 2023. He was born on Nov. 13, 1932 to the late Henry J. Bergeron, Sr. and Juanita Acosta Bergeron. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School and Tulane University School of Civil Engineering. He was a partner of Bergeron and Lang Consulting Engineers from 1964 to 1993 and a founding partner of Christian’s Restaurant in New Orleans. He was always interested in construction and had his Carpenter’s License at age 17. He still enjoyed restoring old, damaged furniture to its original beauty. He is survived by his wife, Myrna Buller Bergeron, married 67 years and by his 7 children, Denise Lang (Buddy); Marci Drumm (Bob); Celeste McCann (Patrick); Henry J. III, known as Joey; Robert, known as Bobby; Renee Eiserloh (Hank); and Claire Grandy (Greg). He had 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 expected this Winter. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy B. LaNasa. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 24 at Jesuit High School’s Chapel of the North American Martyrs. Visitation begins at 9:00AM. Mass begins at 10AM. Christian burial after Mass in St. Louis lll Cemetery on Esplanade Ave. in New Orleans. Donations may be made to Louisiana SPCA in his name.
