
Henry Brook Harvey Jr., M.D., died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at his Baton Rouge home. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, he was born Sept. 1, 1927. Dr. Harvey was a retired physician, having practiced internal medicine for 37 years in Baton Rouge, and previously served as chief of staff of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was a graduate of the LSU School of Medicine. Dr. Harvey was a member of The Order of the Knights of St. Gregory, the Baton Rouge Assembly, Baton Rouge Country Club and a past board member of Easter Seals and Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge. He served in the Air Force. Dr. Harvey is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Warner Harvey; daughter, Anne Harvey Cowan, her husband, Steven Michael Cowan Sr., and their children, Caroline Bay, Steven Michael Jr. and Henry Griffin Cowan, all of Houston; son, Henry Brook Harvey III, his wife, Monique Guillot Harvey, and their daughter, Jordan Elizabeth Harvey, all of Baton Rouge; brother, Karl Eikel Harvey and his wife, Nelda, of Baton Rouge; brother-in-law, Arthur Stephen Moles, of Baton Rouge; and 13 nieces and nephews and their families across the country. Dr. Harvey was preceded in death by his father, Henry Brook Harvey Sr.; mother, Ethel Eikel Harvey; and sister, Jimmy Lea Harvey Moles. Services will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Wednesday, Oct. 14, with visitation at the church from 1 p.m. until a funeral Mass at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or a charity of your choosing.
