

Hilda Marie LeSage Dauzat passed away on October 28, 2024, at the age of 84. Hilda was born on September 1, 1940, in Baton Rouge. She attended Sacred Heart School, St. Joseph’s Academy and Baton Rouge High. She met her husband Harold when he moved from Marksville to Baton Rouge to attend college and was working part-time at Hopper’s Drive-In on Florida Boulevard. She thought he was the most handsome guy and she would sometimes pretend to have car trouble and ask him to help her. They have been inseparable ever since, marrying in 1958. They did quite a bit of traveling for Harold’s welding business and had a great time. They also enjoyed traveling with Hilda’s aunt and uncle, Michael and Maryanne Amorello.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harold Paul Dauzat; children: Debra Dauzat Morris; Rebecca “Becky” Dauzat LeJeune (Douglas); Lisa Dauzat Moore and Harold “Scooter” Dauzat Jr. (Paula); grandchildren: Taylor Morris Rees (Brian); Jordan Morris; Kristie LeJeune Vercher (Chad); Daniel LeJeune (Ame); Michael Bates; Racheal Dauzat Alvey (Dave); Nicholas Dauzat (Amy); and Cassidy Dauzat; great grandchildren: Bennett Vercher; Brennan LeJeune; Halle LeJeune; Brianna Bates; Landon Alvey; Harper Alvey; Arlo Dauzat; Jack Dauzat and Nora Dauzat. She is survived by her brother Joseph LeSage and sister Mary LeSage. She is also survived by niece Rhonda Guillot Bonnett and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre “Pete” LeSage and Crucie Amorello LeSage and godparents Joseph and Maude Amorello.
