Hilda Doran

Hilda Doran went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2013 at the age of 98. She was born April 30, 1914, a native of White Castle, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge for the past 70 years. Hilda was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, sister and aunt who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George Henry Doran Sr.; oldest son, George Henry Doran Jr.; grandson, Daniel Brian Boudreaux; 3 sisters; and one brother. Hilda is survived by four daughters, Patricia Demers and husband Armand, Karen Smajstrla and husband Raymond, Janet Barksdale and husband Douglas, and Diana Boudreaux and husband Tom; one son, Ronald Doran and wife Jewel; daughter in law, Jacqueline Doran; sister, Lois Herring and husband Jimmy; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at St. George Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 9:00am to 10:30am with recitation of the rosary at 8:30am, until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am with Father Michael Schatzle officiating. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park with her grandsons Ronan Demers, Kerry Demers, Ronnie Doran, Jeff Boudreaux, Scott Smajstrla, Matthew Barksdale, Bradley Boudreaux, and Andrew Barksdale serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Joseph Hospice at 10615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge.
