
Pete passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Our Lady of The Lake Regional Medical Center after a long, arduous and courageous battle with lymphoma with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 21, 1931, in Corpus Christi, Texas, raised in Bayside, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He was the founder and former president of Louisiana Utility Supply Co. Inc., and secretary-treasurer of Industrial Utility Sales Co., Inc. Pete was a graduate of Texas A&M University and was an avid fisherman. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, June 5, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Shannon Delaureal. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Billie Paxton Hultgren; daughter, Kendra Hultgren DesOrmeaux and husband Tommy; son, Carl Hultgren and wife Susan; two stepsons, Keith Paxton and wife Mimi, of Baton Rouge, and Dickie Paxton, of New Orleans; and six grandchildren, Carly DesOrmeaux, Allison Hultgren, Cody Hultgren, Ashley Paxton Keller and Lynsey Paxton, all of Baton Rouge, and Helene Paxton, of New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilmer C. Hultgren Sr. and Louise Hay Hultgren; and sister, Joy Hultgren McCutcheon. Pallbearers will be James Agent, Gordon Cordes, A.J. Griffin, C.J. Smith, Marshall Harris and Mike Goree. Honorary pallbearers are Don Battles, Carter Parker and Harold Jones. The family would like to acknowledge Dr. David Hanson for his care and compassion.
