

H. Guy Riche' III was born on May 31, 1945, at Shreveport Charity Hospital in Shreveport, LA, where his father was performing his medical doctor internship. He passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, at St. James Place in Baton Rouge. Guy was a life long resident of Baton Rouge, graduating from both Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University. He proudly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division from 1960 to 1963, stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Guy was raised Catholic but joined the Episcopal Church when he married his first wife, Madelene, in 1968 at St. James Episcopal Church. He remained an active member of the church for the rest of his life. After Madelene's death in 1997, he was married there to Mimi Barnum in 1999. Guy worked as a computer analyst and software developer for several Baton Rouge businesses. He was an active volunteer in the church and community, notably serving in the Stephen Ministry and volunteering at Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge.
Guy will be remembered as a devout Christian, a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather, and faithful friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. H. Guy Riche' Jr. and Mary Lou Caradine Riche', his first wife Madelene Hubbs Riche', and his brother-in-law Henry L. Decuir. Guy is survived by his wife Mimi Barnum Riche'; his son Dr. Andrew B. Riche' and wife Mary; his daughter Barbin Riche' Lewis and husband Matthew; his brother Robert R. Riche' and wife Bobbie, his sister-in-law Jenell Decuir, and his brother-in-law Terry D. Hubbs and wife Betty. He is also survived by his stepdaughters Malen Kemp and husband David, Hassen Elmore and husband Al, and Ragan VitaNuova and husband Troy. Guy was also blessed with four grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy and will cherish his memory forever.
Visitation will be held at St James Episcopal Church, 208 N 4th St, Baton Rouge, LA 70801, US, on June 20, 2026, from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:30AM. A burial is to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
