

Ian Nathaniel Lester, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the age of thirty. Ian was born on May 17, 1983 in Puento Alto, Chile and came home to his parents to grace all of our lives with love, fun, laughter, kindness, craziness, and hard work. Ian leaves behind his precious son Reubin Nathan Wilks, his mother Josette Lester and step-father Fred Mendenhall, his father Gary Lester and his partner Ron Wilhem, his brother Cyrus Graham Lester, his sister Rosemari Lester and her partner Kyle Tumenello, his grandmother Iris Kathryn Lester, his niece Hailey Marie Lester, three aunts, four uncles, and five cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Robert and Marvine Manar and his paternal grandfather R L Lester. Ian loved life, LSU football games, getting together with friends and cooking with them, fishing, teasing his niece, and hiking in the Colorado mountains. But most of all he loved his family and his son. He will be sorely missed by all whose lives were touched by his sweet soul. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2012 at the Unitarian Church, 8470 Goodwood Boulevard. Visitation with the family begins at 2:30 pm.
