A native of Johnson Station, MS and a long-time resident of the Baker, later Baton Rouge, and most recently the last 8 years living with her only son and daughter-in-law, Idell passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the age of 98. She was a sports lover, having played basketball in high school in Johnson Station and was a big fan of the Ole Miss Rebels Football team throughout her life. Idell worked for Picadilly on 3rd St. for many years, later for Kean’s Dry Cleaners, and she was a member Monte Sano Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. She is survived by her son Jimmy Borskey, Sr. (wife, Ann Terry Borskey) of Head of Island, LA; grandchildren, Jimmy Borskey, Jr. (wife, Shawn Borskey), Donald W. Borskey, & Michael Dayne Borskey; great-grandchildren Tanner Borskey, Joi’ Borskey, Michael Dayne Borskey, Jr., & Victoria Reynolds; great-great-grandchildren, Jenna Netto, Crystal Netto, & Nick Graham. She is preceded in death by her husband August Victor Borskey; her parents, Gilbert and Elizabeth Smith; siblings, Robert L. Smith (wife, Velma Travis Smith), and Nell Smith Durbin (husband, Russell Durbin). Visitation will be on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 10:00 am until the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm officiated by Pastor Oren Conner.
