
A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 2:10 p.m.Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at age 89. She lit up everyone's life with laughter and love; the glow will last forever. She was a very special mother and person with character, the ability to inspire everyone to feel good about themselves and to achieve their goals. She is survived by two daughters, Jerrie Lynn Pinkston and her husband, Kerney, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Ginger G. Amans and her husband, Rick, of Baton Rouge; three sons, Thomas W. Gerald and wife Mamie of Baton Rouge, David E. Gerald Jr. and wife Linda of Pride, and B. Michael Gerald and wife Margo of Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren, Shane Baumann, David E. Gerald III and wife Rhonda, Kerry Lex Gerald, Russell W. Gerald and wife Charlotte, Janai Lynn Sharkey and husband J.J., Michelle G. Cornett and husband Dustin, Angela R. Gerald, London R. Gill, Meyers P. Namie and wife Shauna, and Amanda L. Namie; great-grandchildren, Andy and Alex Baumann, Brandon, Braxton and Cade Gerald, Mikayla, Austin and Ethan Lex Gerald, Jaylon Gerald and Jack Sharkey, Chailyn Cornett and Andrew Namie; and a brother, Eugene S. Mayeaux Jr. and wife Wanda of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta and Eugene S. Mayeaux Sr.; and two sisters, Eloise Taylor and Dorothy Sharkey. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 5 p.m.to 9 p.m.with a rosary at 7 p.m.Visiting at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m.until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. A 1934 graduate ofBaton RougeHigh School, she had a passion for poetry and writing, loved family and enjoyed cooking for everyone who entered her home. She was loved by everyone who was blessed by her presence. She loved flowers. Mom was an angel on earth. She would say "work like you don't need money.
