Iris Rushing Bateman, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Saturday, Oct, 16, 2010. She was 75 and a native of Denham Springs. Mrs. Bateman was retired as manager of the US Steel Credit Union. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Robbie and David Richard; three grandchildren, Dustin Robert Richard, April Summer Richard and Brent James Richard; brother, Leslie Harold Rushing; special family friend, Mike Cain; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bateman; parents, Sozo and Julia Lucille Rushing; and stepmother, Lillie Mae Rushing. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday Oct. 19, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until funeral service in the chapel at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Greg Jones. Graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Springhill-McGee Cemetery, Franklinton.
