Jack E. Phipps, a native of McComb, Miss. and a resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the age of 80. He served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist and was a proud member of the Army Band. He spent his career working for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Katherine Beeson Phipps; loving father to Rhonda Madere (Randy), Jane LeBlanc (David), and Steven Phipps; grandfather to Joey LeBlanc (Britt), Seth LeBlanc (Kacie), Garrett, Cameron, and Brooke Phipps; and five great-grandchildren, Rylie Langley, Kymber Katherine, Colt, Denver, and Londyn LeBlanc. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Florine Phipps and his brother, Lester Phipps, Jr. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 12 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
