He was a retired electrical sales representative and an electrical engineer by degree. Jack was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of El Paso, Texas. He died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at his home at age 74. Visitation at Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Carroll under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanda Bond Waltrip; sons, Jack "Brad" Waltrip Jr. and James Bond Waltrip, both of Virginia; and sister, Mary Frances Llewelyn. Pallbearers will be members of the Men's Ensemble of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Jack was a Scout Master of Troops 178 and 278. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church Men's Ensemble and Saints Alive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church.
