Jackie Lynn Goodwin

Jackie departed this life after a 2 1/2 year-long battle with ovarian cancer. A graduate of LSU earning a bachelor of arts degree in communications, she was an administrative assistant to Sheldon Dennis Blunt, Loranda Moffett Walker and Paul LeBlanc at the Baton Rouge law firm of Phelps Dunbar. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church since 1979 and was preceded in death six months prior by her father, Dr. John W. Goodwin. Survivors include her mother, Johnnie F. Goodwin; brother, John Mark Goodwin and wife Kathy Goodwin; identical twin sister, Jodie Lea Goodwin Evans and husband Michael Evans; as well as many friends and extended family members who knew and loved her. Visitation at Broadmoor Baptist Church, 9755 Goodwood Blvd., Sunday, March 20, in the church activities hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service in the church sanctuary at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Broadmoor Baptist Church, 9755 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815, or to St. Joseph Hospice, 10615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
