

"Jacques "Jack" Lamar Savoy passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at the age of 86. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Glenmora. He served in the US Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant stationed in Guam. He retired from the Exxon Refinery where he was a Chemical Engineer. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mona Rae Sontag Savoy, three daughters; Renee Savoy Harris, MD, Nana Savoy Pepe and Alison Savoy Callender, a son; Alan Lamar Savoy, a sister; Joyce Scallan, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Amanda Blanche Elliott Savoy and Jack Savoy, sisters; Doris Mae Savoy, Vivian Snoddy and Sylvia Tumminello. Visitation and services are to be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Monday, July 3, 2017 starting at 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am conducted by Rev. Michael Allelo with burial to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. "Jack" was a High School graduate of St. Joseph Benedictine Abbey and received a BA in Chemical Engineering along with a MBA both from LSU in Baton Rouge. He was an avid duck hunter, a member of the "Lumpers" Club and an Usher at St. Thomas More. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Abbey in Covington.
